I don't know if I agree with this. So fare paying passengers not only have to worry about their safety or being exposed to drugs being cooked on transit, they have to worry about being fined $250 for a no harm no foul situation? Put a fence up if they don't want people crossing the tracks.
I think it'll be shovels to the ground for Phase 2 Blatchford to Castledowns in 2027-28 after the two current extension projects are substantially complete. Barring any new anti-transit city government. The budget for the next 3 years cannot accommodate a third concurrent major LRT extension...
Given the traffic volume on 102 Ave can't be any more than 1,000 vehicles per day just based on my observations, the number of some of the infractions is staggering.
Yay, service charges no one asked for. I guess they'd rather we use expensive pay stations that are subject to malfunctions and vandalism.
(Says the person who ends up paying 35-50 cents to not have to walk to and waste time at a pay station)
It's one thing if they're trying to limit access to keep it safe, but all the visual barriers they've put in on both sides of the river have been interesting. Maybe a bike ride as far up as possible on the river valley trail?
These right turn things.
They're often dangerous not only for pedestrians but also among other drivers. There's a high crash rate because of the deep shoulder check to the left required while in motion. Removing them completely would be the safest thing to do, but in suburbia where we do have...
I think many were optimistic that Davies park & ride would provide that intermediary interface to suburban riders while we wait for the corridor to densify.
I wish the city would make hard choices like have the 500X run to Davies instead of all the way downtown. Same with the 110X-150X, open up...
There's nothing confusing about it for me either, but you have to expect other drivers to not know what lane they should be in, whether they should be signalling or not signalling, etc.
Same at 109 St towards Walterdale Hill, the drivers know that the right turn lane is for turning right onto...
I wonder what the Capital Line's historical ridership was.
Vancouver's Expo Line was 21,000 per weekday on average post Expo 86. Everyone starts from somewhere.
Many of the studies I see say that light rail, particularly traffic-integrated light rail, does not attract nearly as many passengers...
The hairpin intersection is easy enough to deal with, I'd rather they fix the confusing 101 St and MacDonald Dr intersection. They should lower 101 St below MacDonald Dr and then grade it up to surface towards Jasper Ave.
