Isn't there a parkade under that space?

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Statistics Canada has published the latest data on screened passenger traffic. These are passengers passing through security screening, not a count of all passengers. Worryingly, Edmonton was one of only two airports in Canada to post screened passenger lower than November 2019 (-0.9%). The...

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

I think you're right, though I do hope they provide some kind of pedestrian/cycling bridge there because though it's not far for a car to detour to Fort Rd or 50th, it's a heck of a long way for someone on foot.

    General Infill Discussion

That's democracy, though. You could go the same route as the NDP in BC and ban public hearings for certain upzonings, but I don't see Albertans going for that.

    Downtown

I remember bales of hay on 104 Ave and 110St(?). That wasn't so long ago

Any developer would win instant goodwill by putting a temporary park here until they decide what to do long term.

    New Stadium / Arena?

While there are definite advantages of a roof, it cost the BC government more than $500 million to replace the roof at BC Place, and that's a stadium built to accommodate a roof. Not sure Edmonton taxpayers would want to foot that bill.

    FC Edmonton - CPL

I've been trying to track how many tens of millions BC has spent upgrading the VIP areas of BC Place since the World Cup was announced, but it's almost impossible.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Well, without counting a single cyclist in December, it looks like Edmonton set a record for bike usage in 2025: https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/city.of.edmonton/viz/YEGCycleCounter/EcoCounterRev2

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Some of us have not so fond memories of the Airporter, which offered service downtown and was the only non-vehicle way to get to YEG for a long time

124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

And there are plenty of 3-4 storey buildings in the area. My brother lived in one that was so old and sagged, his dog could play fetch all by himself

    Downtown Crime

It doesn't. The challenges in Vancouver are just the same ones Ian enumerated, some concentrated such as poverty, disorder, and open drug use in the DTES and gang activity in the suburbs. The difference is, none of these issues are concentrated in the downtown areas where most people are...

True, and a lot of Montrealers live near Ste Catherine's and love going there, helping the retail situation. But if you go down to René Levesque, which is a massive stroad in the heart of downtown, your impression would much different. .
