Not a good thing in my opinion, particularly since they haven’t secured additional funding yet. It makes you wonder if the extra costs have anything to do with them breaking a contract?

This will be a case study of what not to do in project management.

I don't recognize that nice two storey possibly stone building through the lobby windows across the street. If Ledcor can do that that too while they are at it, wow!

God, I hate AI. I know I used it to make that fancy apartment building in the City Centre mall thread, but...

From foundation to future 🏗️ With the successful completion of the building exterior, a strong foundation is now in place for the next chapter of the Winspear Centre expansion.

We’re grateful to Clark Builders for the expertise and quality craftsmanship they brought to the project—a contribution that's an important part of the Winspear’s legacy.

As one phase comes to a close, another begins. We’re excited to introduce Ledcor, an experienced builder who will complete our interior.

This next phase is all about the details, the atmosphere, and the space where people will experience first-hand what the completed Winspear has to offer. We can already imagine the moment the Music Box hosts its first performers and when these new spaces open their doors to welcome our community inside.

Without knowing the original or amended scope of work in - or not in - Clark’s contract, it could simply be that Clark is at the end of their contract with the completion of the building shell and that Ledcor has been successful in securing a contract for the interior finishing within that shell.

While I find this amusing, I don't blame AI. It is still up to people to provide the proper parameters and review what AI does, which may not have been done here.

Now I don't know if this will happen but I really do hope that they can move the construction fence either completely or at least closer to the building so that there can be a sidewalk again next to this expansion
 
  • The Francis Winspear Centre for Music (FWCM) has requested an additional $33.4 million as a contribution to the construction to complete the interior fit-out of the expansion project.
  • The Capital City Downtown CRL reserve has a $20.9 million deficit; therefore, this request will further decrease the balance of the reserve. As a result, this grant would require the use of the City’s working capital.
  • The Francis Winspear Centre has indicated that the requested $33.4 million is not enough to complete the project as currently planned. There is a $6 to $7.5 million budgeted shortfall in funding that has arisen since the project was included in the CRL extension.
