Edmonton Oilers

Man, Winnipeg sure has hit the skids though. I thought they would be right up there, but they're even below the Flames in the standings.

Flames are 8-3 in their last 11 including wins over Minnesota, Vegas, Boston and the Oilers - giving them one of the best records in NHL during this period.

Oilers are 7-4 in their last 11, for comparison.

The 3 Lightning No-Names - Hagel, Point and Cirelli (prior to the 4 nations cup) are on this team........sheesh! Hyman robbed! Could anyone on here point Hagel or Cirelli out of a crowd? So much hate for Bouch even the geezer Doughty made the team.......I'm out, not watching

Bouchard can still make the Olympic team in case there are any injuries to the Olympic defensemen.
He can but any replacement is likely to be chosen using the same criteria that kept him - and probably rightly so - from being selected in the first place. International tournaments aren't won on offensive output, they are typically lost as a result of errors in judgement and defensive mistakes and there aren't 82 games in a season or even best of 7 matches where those errors and lapses can be overcome. In any "one and done" match, you can't afford what Bouchard brings to the table.

The Oilers in December: L, W2, L, W2, L, W2, L, W2, L, W, L.
I read somewhere that they are one of only three teams in the league that hasn't won 3 games in a row this season. They are in first place today (not sure the last time this has happened this late in the season) but the lead is tenuous as Vegas and Anaheim are right behind with games in hand. And multiple teams (CGY, San Jose, LA) not far behind as well. We are a 4-5 game losing streak away from being out of a playoff position. Having said that we are a 4-5 game winning streak away from securing a solid position in 1st place in the Pacific.
I also read somewhere that the Oilers haven't won their division (regular season title) since 1987 - supposedly the longest current streak in the NHL.
Perplexing team!!!

I can honestly say that we got goalied last night and that it easily could have been a much closer game.

Our D and goaltending were lacklustre to say the least, but kudos to Boston, as they move the puck very, very well and are super aggressive on the PK.

"Edmonton Oilers have called up Quinn Hutson and Isaac Howard, the two hottest rookie scorers in the American Hockey League, and put them on a new Kid Line with Matt Savoie at centre."

Would be fun to see them click.

The kid line you say...
