Edmonton's population is booming, where are all the new proposals?

If someone has access to or knows of a map or some other graphic that shows where all the infill is happening (at the neighborhood level) I would love to see it.

Take a look here! Lots of data points and filters to play around with. It displays best on a computer.

^ Lifestyle preferences. Some people are wary about renting the 6-storey misfires and I suspect that contingent-population will grow arithmetically -- if it does we will not have solved the "density problem" and we will have a glut of the uglies peering over the streets of big E.

Not that it’s a competition 😉 but west jasper place has seen probably 15 of these built in the last 18 months. Most are 8-10 units (garages suites plus basements). Pretty crazy change of pace in west central where real estate being a bit cheaper than east central has brought in more developers faster.
I forgot to say, on my street. :p.

Personally i love it. Although today a demo permit for a home/building that still had value and life. It’s a bit sad.

Despite strong population growth, Edmonton is a tough city for developers to make money and have projects pencil. This is not limited to high rise but extends to SFH in greenfield neighborhoods. Edmonton is a highly competitive market and margins are thin.

Is it because our housing is relatively affordable compared to others? Is it a highly competitive market in the sense that developers compete on price but don't necessarily deliver a quality product or something is aesthetically nice (see current discussions in the Miscellaneous thread).
