Alberta Politics

Is that just because of population growth and inflation? I don't think this funding is actually keeping up with either. Their press releases tend to be rather self congratulatory and often miss such key things.
Probably. But the numbers could be worse.

The easiest comparison would be BCs 37 million, used for grants similar to the allocation (36.1M) described in this article.

Honestly, if we allow partisan gatherings of any kind on the Legislature grounds, it's to be expected some won't be things you agree with. Barring extreme nonsense like antisemitism, people should be able to express their views.
The anti-LGBTQ+ views of the Christian right are extreme nonsense like antisemitism. It's a belief that certain groups of people shouldn't exist based on how they were born.

Maybe so, and I certainly disagree with his politics, but this isn't an anti-LGBT rally. It's a concert.

I might not agree with the ideology of a Soviet-era communist marching band, but I don't think that means they should be stopped from playing. The "it's us or them" idea contributes to a lot of modern radicalism by making discourse about correction of thought, rather than the exchange of ideas.

Fine, but using that logic will a LGBT group be able to easily book and hold a concert here too? I feel our current government is picking and choosing who can use these spaces based on their preferences.

Haha as if. Simply existing as an LGBTQ person is now considered being political.

To them, there's two orientations, straight and political.

Instead of everyday concerns such as health care, education or the homeless, this is the Premier's highest priority

Obviously this isn't going to happen, but out of morbid curiosity I half want to see it pass.
