Scaled back significantly from the original design (2023 vs 2025)
Where did you find this?

I'd prefer they copy + paste McKernan (but with actual winterized shelters*) because of the centre platform. I use NAIT Station daily, and it's a pain because we all need to wait on the sidewalk just before the platform until a train arrives. Otherwise, there's a 50% chance that you'll be waiting on the wrong platform, and have to awkwardly jog around to the other platform to board the train. They should just use the same station typology everywhere, just build what’s at NAIT/Blatchford Market for all high-floor stations. I’m fine with that, don’t need a unique, fancy design at each station when costs could be better used at additional trackage, grade separation, LRV purchases, etc.
Seems like a cut-and-paste of Kingsway.
The new station looks good enough. Doesn’t need to be anything crazy. I will say that the original elevated station looked far superior (and was better long term too).
The Nait station is currently a pain as an end of the line station, but in 1,000,000 years when the Metro line is extended to Castle Downs, this won't be a problem.I'd prefer they copy + paste McKernan (but with actual winterized shelters*) because of the centre platform. *Fun fact by the way: in 2020, council looked at winterizing the platform shelters (report, and the attachment), but the funding package ultimately didn't make the cut.
At this point I'm just excited for it to go to Blatchford Gate so that NAIT isn't the terminus anymore lolThe Nait station is currently a pain as an end of the line station, but in 1,000,000 years when the Metro line is extended to Castle Downs, this won't be a problem.
