Nearly three months since our last update, and work on The Trax by Beck Developments has now reached the end of the line. With only a small handful of finishing touches yet to go, and evidence of possession clear across the bulk of the property, it is now safe to call the project "complete."

Along with its sizable, ground-level retail component, the 6-storey, 100-unit, residential development will very soon be home upwards of 150 residents. Located immediately east of a large CPR rail yard, the aptly-named project will bring a great deal of pedestrian vibrancy to the area south-east of 82 Ave NW and Gateway Blvd.

Blending a nice mix of traditional and modern, with redbrick, stone, and glass arranged in a pleasing, 21st-century edifice, The Trax hearkens back to the golden age of rail. Moreover, owing to its modest height and gentle density, the project is also highly representative of the changing face of the city.

An excellent addition thus to Old Strathcona, and in its immediate urban context, a welcome breathe of fresh air, The Trax will more than likely be a popular address within the heart of the city.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
