Two months since we last checked in at Encore Tower, and it appears that the 43-storey high-rise is now close to topping off. Standing tall at approximately 35 storeys, it will not be long now before the 179-unit residential tower by Westrich Pacific and Dub Architects reaches its full 138-metre height.
Located at the corner of 103 St NW and 102 Ave NW in the heart of the city, Encore Tower will place its upwards of 250 residents within close proximity to the YMCA, City Centre Mall, Jasper Ave, and the ICE District. The development will bring with it a sizeable influx of people and pedestrian vibrancy, the tower part of the recent intensification of the city centre.
Looking up from street level, it is clear that Encore Tower's skinny profile will help make this a standout structure. Clad in a mix of blue and grey glazing and spandrel, the tower will also have a distinctive outward appearance, its colour scheme playing nicely against Edmonton's blue and grey skies.
Viewed from afar, Encore Tower blends almost seamlessly into the downtown skyline, its blue hue fitting in nicely among its neighbours.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
