Late last year, the recently completed future home of MC College was captured in a series of beautiful images which serve to highlight the dramatic addition that is The Edge. Posted by Forum contributor Kaizen, the multiple expressions and volumes at work at this highly innovative, Dub Architects-designed commercial tower truly come to life, the photovoltaic wall in particular providing an excellent contrast to the otherwise translucent structure.

Located along 104 Ave NW across the street from MacEwan University, The Edge is well-situated within the core, close to the ICE District, transit, and the shops and restaurants of Jasper Ave and other nearby arteries. Floors 2-8 will be dedicated to MC College, the top two floors to become office space for Dub Architects.

A ground floor retail space is planned to front along 104 Ave NW, which will likely be a boon to the many students and office workers who will soon populate the neighbourhood.

By far, however, the standout feature of the high-rise is the 500-panel photovoltaic wall that will be a source of green energy for the structure. Paired with the aforementioned translucent tower - the ideal environment for study rooms, classrooms, and architectural drawing boards - The Edge will be a fitting addition to the area for all involved.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
