Since reaching completion earlier this year, passersby have been left wondering who would become the first tenants of the Dub Architects-designed The Edge, as prominently located along 104 Ave NW. Bedecked with no less than 500 solar panels - making for the largest of its kind in Canada - The Edge has more than earned its reputation as an unusual building, its green approach helping further set it apart from the pack.

Recent signage has signalled that The Edge will soon become the new home of MC College, set to occupy floors 2-8. This will leave the top two floors for Dub Architects - a fitting touch given their role in the project.

While this accounts for the bulk of the structure, little remains known about who or what will occupy the sizeable retail space fronting along 104 Ave NW. Offering excellent natural light, and large, open floor plans, The Edge will be a great place for both a college and architecture firm, there being ample possibilities for study rooms, reading rooms, and drafting rooms.

Down at street level, the final move in of all concerned, incuding the future retail tenants, will help bring a great deal of urban vibrancy to the local streetscape.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
