Two weeks since its celebrated topping off, and Stantec Tower has now entered into its final stage of exterior construction, as crews busy themselves applying the finishing touches. The first glimpses of glass have now appeared upon the three-storey mechanical penthouse, the top of the tower to eventually be graced with a large digital display board.

Viewed from below, while it is clear that there remains some balcony and glazing work yet to be done, most of the tower's glass curtain wall is now complete. The 251-metre, 66-storey Stantec Tower, and its slightly shorter, albeit more curvaceous neighbour, the JW Marriott, have long since become staples of the Edmonton skyline, their similar completion levels adding to their distinctive collective impact upon the city.

Floors 3-20 now house all 1,500 of Edmonton's Stantec employees, while the rest of the tower's office space will soon go to Dentons Canada LLP, DLA Piper, PwC, and others. While these firms continue to move in, work is progressing in the SKY Residences above, with occupancy for all 483 condo suites therein projected for fall of next year.

Viewed above from Jasper Ave, Stantec Tower commands an impressive presence from virtually every vantage point. Once complete, Statec Tower will be the tallest high-rise in Canada outside of Toronto.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
