Nearly a month since our last update, and progress at the site of the Augustana Church Redevelopment has been moving steadily along. With rebar now poking above grade, it will not be long before the 30-storey residential high-rise by Pangman Development Corp and DIALOG begins to take shape.
Viewed below, the build site has matured quite bit over the last few weeks, as rebar and a series of cement pours have worked to bring construction to grade. Located just west of downtown, along 107 St NW between 99 and 100 Ave NW, the Augustana will eventually become home to upwards of 300 residents spread across 230 units.
Close to the Legislature, transit, and the delights of Jasper Ave, Augustana will be a prime address for those looking to be close to the core, yet still part of a neighbourhood. For its own part, the three-storey podium will enliven the street with a ground floor retail component to face onto 107 St NW.
With still some weeks to go before the emergent tower begins to cast a shadow, work crews are busy getting in as much work as possible before Edmonton's deep winter freeze sets in for the season. Once complete, Augustana will be a fine addition to the streetscape, the injection of new residents into the area to more than make up for the loss of the namesake Lutheran Church that the tower has replaced.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
