A month since we last checked in at the site of Regency Developments' 121 West, and progress has been moving steadily along. Located kitty corner to the former Molson Brewery, the 8-storey, 244-unit, residential development will soon deliver upwards of 350 new residents to the intersection of 121 St NW and 105 Ave NW.

Situated thus at the nexus of Westmount, Queen Mary Park, and Oliver, 121 West will place residents within easy walking distance to several points of interest, including the bustling 124 St NW corridor, Oliver Square, and the shops of 104 Ave NW. Soon to be joined by the adjacent Brewery District, 121 West will be in good company, the imminent influx of local shops and dining options to help make this project an easy sell.

As cement pours continue, it will not be long before 121 West rises significantly above grade, the mid-rise residential block to eventually climb to 8 storeys. Units will range from 560-1,300 square feet, with prices starting in the low $200,000s.

The completed project will feature a mix of three distinct volumes (as seen above), which will each rise to slightly different final heights. The facade will be clad with a colourful mixture of materials and textures, from polished cement, to brick, to siding. Once complete, 121 will be a welcome addition, the development to complement the aforementioned Brewery District, as well as a host of other developments slated for the area.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
