Only a month since last checking in at the site of The MacLaren by Edgar Developments and DIALOG, and progress at the 27-storey tower has been swift, the project speeding towards topping off. Standing tall at roughly 20+ storeys, with just a few more to go, The MacLaren has begun to truly fill out, passersby now getting a good sense of the development's intended scope.

Located upon the site of the historic Glenora Bed & Breakfast Inn, formerly the Buena Vista Apartments, the facade of which to be eventually re-incorporated into the base of the tower, the development at the corner of 124 St NW and 102 Ave NW will soon welcome home up to 400 new residents.

Unique as well for being planned as a rental tower, the 240-unit MacLaren will also inject a fair amount of revitalized retail to the streetscape in addition to the significant human capital the project promises to deliver.

Viewed from a downtown perch, The MacLaren (top-right) is all but lost amid the rapidly rising skyline of Edmonton's inner suburbs, the conversion of single-family homes to high-rises now occurring at breakneck speed.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
