Six weeks since our last update, and the ascent of Encore Tower's podium level has been making slow, but steady progress, having risen a full storey since early July. Set to rise from a three-storey retail base, the 43-storey mixed use condo tower will eventually take the place of a longstanding surface lot located on a prime downtown parcel at 102 Ave NW and 103 St NW.
Designed by Dub Architects for Westrich Pacific, the 140-metre Encore Tower will bring up to 300 new residents to the core, spread across 179 units. Sat atop a three-storey podium, the tower's base will contain a mix of amenity, lobby, and retail space.
Nestled between the downtown YMCA and the Hudson's Bay flagship store, Encore Tower will place residents in the heart of the city, only steps as well from the newly-developed ICE District and shops and restaurants of Jasper Ave.
Once complete, Encore Tower will represent a welcome addition to the core outside of the ICE District, thereby spreading the wealth so to speak, of the benefits of increased density and pedestrian traffic to Edmonton's rapidly revitalizing downtown.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
