Two weeks since our last update, and a new round of cement pours and other activity has helped further fill out the podium level for Westrich Pacific's 43-Storey Encore Tower in downtown Edmonton. Looming large at the corner of 102 Ave NW and 103 St NW, the three-storey podium base will eventually be home to a mix of retail, amenity, and lobby space.

Designed by Dub Architects, the 140-metre glass tower will deliver as many as 300 new residents to the core, spread across 179-units of varying size and configuration. Well-located, the development will place buyers right in the heart of the action, the tower adjacent to the YMCA, Hudson's Bay and Edmonton City Centre mall, as well as more recent additions, including the nearby ICE District.

Having replaced one of the core's now critically endangered parking lots, Encore Tower is representative of the changing face of the city, the Alberta capital gradually regaining its reputation as a bustling urban metropolis.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
