Two months since our last update, and progress at the site of the JW Marriott has been moving along well as glazing work continues along the entire 191-metre height of the 56-storey tower designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects and DIALOG. Standing tall at 56 storeys, the JW Marriott is likely the first building in Edmonton to employ the use of a telescoping boom window cleaning rig in order to complete glazing work on the tower's crown.

While the balconies have yet to be clad, work upon the rest of the tower's exterior has nearly wrapped up, leading to a fair amount on speculation on our Forum as to when this portion of the cladding work will be completed.

Moving down to street level, the multi-storey podium base continues to look more and more complete, the public realm improvements now underway along 104 Ave NW appearing to be almost finished.

Viewed from below the Rogers Place walkway, the main floor entranceway is looking nearly complete as work crews hurry to speed the opening of the sidewalks along the south side of 104 Ave NW.

Soon to be home to 262 condo units stacked above the 346-room hotel component, the mixed-use development will be a transformative project for Edmonton's ICE District - rivaled only by the 251-metre Stantec Tower next door.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
