Fast approaching completion, progress has been moving along nicely at the Hariri Pontarini Architects-and-DIALOG-designed JW Marriott by ICE District Properties. The subject of a recently featured tour by City Rep Dave Sutherland, the JW Marriott has now moved even closer to completion, the removal of street-level barriers around the perimeter of the site signalling the imminent start of public realm improvements at the base of the tower.

Viewed above, the recent removal of cement jersey barriers along the 104 Ave side of the JW Marriott have led to speculation on our Forum that work crews are gearing up for the host of public realm improvements and sidewalk reconstruction needed to bring this project further towards completion.

Cutting a fine silhouette against the Edmonton sky, the JW Marriott will be an elegant addition to the downtown core, the work ahead to knit the project to its neighbours via a combination of pavers, potted trees, and street furniture.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
