The City of Leduc, Leduc County and the City of Edmonton have announced enhanced transit connections for Edmonton International Airport and the soon-to-open Premium Outlet Collection EIA. The news comes hot on the heels of Ivanhoé Cambridge and Simon Property Group revealing six anchor tenants for the $215 million shopping complex.

Beginning in May, aligning with the opening of the Premium Outlet Collection EIA, Leduc Transit Route 10 will service the new mall. ETS Route 747 will add a stop to the attraction, complementing existing express bus service between Century Park LRT Station and EIA main terminal.

To make transit a more attractive option for travellers, ETS has also decided to reduce fares from $10 to $5 on its route. UPass will apply to route 747 starting by June, and Leduc Transit passengers will then be able to transfer between the route and the county's system at no additional cost.

EIA will begin operating a free shuttle linking the main terminal, Premium Outlet Collection EIA, Rosenau Transport, Aeroterm building, BBE warehouse and the STARS hangar.

"The Accord partnership has provided an unprecedented collaborative opportunity to innovate and advance the region and EIA as a competitive global investment destination. We are already seeing the collective benefits of the partnership through the enhanced transit access to EIA," said Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson in a released statement. "Our continued capacity to negotiate and manage shared investment and shared benefits is vital to ensuring our collective prosperity as a successful Edmonton metropolitan region."
