Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Landscaping is really top notch on this project. Hopefully it stays awesome with quality maintenance.

Walked past 102 St Stop from City Centre, and got a new angle of the platform. It looks like someone finally understood the assignment regarding card readers. Mounts for them everywhere. My only gripe is they are along the platform, and not right at the entrance, for easier tap-walk right on to the train.
3 of the last 4 train trips I’ve taken have involved running to catch the door, thus not validating my ticket (i threw the unstamped one out when i got off so it counts as a single use still, scouts honour) but not having validators/scanners/tappers at entrance points is a PAINFULLY bad design eff-up. I’m glad that at least one of our new train stops will be adequately equipped.

Also still rocking the selfie camera for through-fencing shots, hence the blurriness. Replacement parts are hard to ship apparently.

Testing observations from the past 2 days:
Flaggers returned to Mill Woods located stationed at 31 Ave and all crossing south of there. I had seen a single car running earlier in the morning without flaggers between Davies and the OMF.
Today flaggers had returned to 34 Ave and 36A Ave, despite that TransEd said they were no longer needed. They were running a 2 car train, so I guess it had to do with running a 2 car train and making sure the signals handled that correctly? No flaggers at 38 Ave or 31 Ave so presumably the car was only going back and forth between 31 Ave and 38 Ave

There was also a 2 car train at Boonie Doon with flaggers north of the station and beyond. I don't think there were any south of the station.

Commercial FinalTo construct DEEP FOUNDATION PILES for an LRT Station on Road Right of Way along Elevated Guideway of Valley Line West Project. --"MISERICORDIA LRT STATION"--$10,0000100 - MISERICORDIA LRT STAT

They are not just "foundations" they are "DEEP FOUNDATIONS"

False alarm…..no prelude to a grand opening rather than just a bbq for 300….there were some speeches and stuff…..but no ribbon cutting
Did it appear ready to open, in terms of finishings, fixtures, landscaping, etc.?

Asking an 18 year old anything is a lesson in futility……she has no idea….but she’s there for the next few days as well….I guess they’re trying to burn through whatever funds they have left. Wouldn’t want them to end the project with a surplus now…..
