Does no one in this city know how to plant a few nice flowers any more!? Its really not that darn difficult, people here did it downtown decades ago. It makes a real difference.

^ And wouldn't they be improved even further if each umbrella had an upcast LED light fixture making these items glow. I could see aesthetic connections between the two parks stretching across both 105th Street and 106th Street with lighting above and below. Below would be a zebra-patterned crosswalk of chasing ribbons of light embedded in the roadway crossing both streets and running along the length of the interceding alley. The imbedded lights would help promote the notion that pedestrian is dominant here.
