Hopefully, this will encourage more blunt-ugly buildings to shed their skins for a better look!

@archited In a lot of cases it can be economical as well as aesthetic; many of these old building envelopes are very energy-inefficient compared to what exists today. As businesses move and consolidate into newer buildings, I expect we'll see many more older buildings like this go through similar transformations not only to help attract new tenants, but also because the vacancies provide opportunities to do large-scale upgrades such as this. Still hoping to see some also go through conversion to residential uses at the same time.

Tiered patio going in at the Central Social Hall.

May 26 - reclad nearly complete, looks really good. Massive tiered patio for Central Social Hall going up on the hill to the west should be interesting.

Well, that is a good sign. That bit of the street has always stunk. Maybe they got rid of it on that side of the street. I always notice it in front of the Starbucks across the way and used to right in front of the patio here.
