A group of us Planning students from the U of A had the opportunity to attend a paint night at Stantec, hosted by the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI)! The 3rd floor is a really nice space, and I would love to see more of the tower one day.

Thanks for sharing.

Seeing these photos still makes it hurt that an observation deck was never added as the vast majority of Edmontonians will never see what the view is like from the top.

A huge miss if you ask me. I mean, it's only the tallest building in western Canada. A user fee to access the observation deck by both Edmontonians and tourists alike would have been a license to print money.

Yes, I still have great memories of going to the top floor of the AGT (now Telus) building when that was open to the public with friends visiting from elsewhere in Canada.

Last time I went to Toronto, I did the tourist thing and went to the CN tower, which was great. On the other hand, Edmonton now seems to miss or is indifferent to every opportunity to expand tourism downtown, which I suppose is one reason why our downtown is in the bad shape it is.

I've been to the top of the Empire State Building and the Tokyo Skytree. The view from Skytree was epic. I may have been up in the Calgary Tower once and I do remember going up to the top of the AGT Tower back in the day. The view from AGT was quite beautiful and yes it's so unfortunate that current edmontonians will probably never get a chance to see the city like I got to unless they're flying over Edmonton on their way in or their way out. It would be so nice if only we could have an observation deck on the tallest building this side of Toronto in Canada. One would think that would actually be a great idea.

I've been to the top observation decks of the Calgary Tower and the CN Tower in Toronto. Both times, lots of tourists went up there at the same time as me, and the admission fee was anywhere from $20 to $40. I wanted to visit to the top observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York City but I ended up not going because it would have cost me an arm, a leg and my left testicle.

Here in Edmonton, our tourism slogan needs to be "Miss An Opportunity - It's The Most Edmonton Thing You Can Do".
