The way this (and Marriott) will change the skyline is kind of hard to imagine for me at this point to be quite honest.

Even when Manulife was built, sure it changed the skyline, but nothing like this.

It looks to me like it's just past half the height of Bell Tower. Its final height will be less than double Bell's, so I think it's reaching over 25% of its final height.

When I try to picture the future skyline I usually imagine another Bell Tower on top of the nearby towers.

If Triple 5 were tuned into the new downtown epicentre, they would demolish the two parking structures at the north end of their City Centre properties, put them underground as part of a new twin tower development that included expanded retail (connected to Katz's world by pedway), mixed use including hotel, their own offices for their international operations, and residential condos. Never wanting to be second-best, they could go for new height records, maybe crossing the magical 100-storey mark.

Triple5 hasn't been involved in downtown property is many years. I imagine you mean Oxford?

It's still mindblowing that such a large property company started and used to be headquartered here. :(

So much agree, though. The HSBC and CCW parkades are enormous dead space in what's about to become a major new centre of activity downtown. I doubt they'll go away anytime soon, but damn one can dream.

@Daveography I didn't realise that 555 was no longer attached to Edmonton Centre (City Centre). I guess Oxford bought their interests out. Nonetheless, those parkade properties are more valuable now than they were a couple of years ago. I used to be good friends with Don Love in those days when he had properties going up in many city centres across North America and re-established the downtown core in Edmonton. I guess the kids who grabbed the reins were more happy in TO. Same applies to 555 -- they are another Edmonton start that now has tentacles all over the world.
