The application was retracted.
The application proposes to change the text of the Zoning Bylaw section for the Arena and Entertainment District (AED) Zone, to allow for tower top digital signs on top of the Stantec Tower at 10220 103 Avenue NW. These Major Digital Signs could display a variety of advertising.

Greasy. That lighting was central to the view of ice district as a lively and vibrant place from afar.
I guess it allowed for them to save $916.45 On electricity over the following 25 years.

Great comp! That should raise the price of everything in the building, and give developers confidence that new luxury towers in downtown Edmonton could get $1,000 per sq. ft. for presales.

My cousin signed a lease over 2 years ago to bring three different food offerings to the Stantec food court.
Needless to say, they were not told they would be waiting this long for spaces to be turned over to them, and it has been a huge bummer.

Spring 2023 seems unnecessarily long from now for the Food Hall, given that the Brewhouse & Banquet, etc. are opening this year and construction here has been completed for, what, 1.5 years essentially? Do we know why it's taking that long?

They probably want to have a significant amount of it built-out and fitted up before opening so as to create a positive experience from the outset. As such, a year from now seems about right.

When the escalator was open, you could walk right by the restaurant space. It is just a big empty space. I suspect they are waiting to see when enough people come back downtown before proceeding further.
