Does anyone know how Lewis Block is leasing up, it seems to be quite empty and moving alot slower than Dauk Commons did. I hope it doesn't slow the completion of the final lot...
paying 1500/month for a small apartment flooded with constant lrt noise and bell ringing sounds like a dream
What’s wrong with train noise? I find it soothing. Surely not everyone’s cup of tea but far better than road noise
Train noises are fine. Crossing gate bells, not so much. Although I do wonder, what are the regulations around having "silent" crossing gates (just flashing lights and gates, no bells) at LRT crossings to reduce noise for surrounding neighbourhoods? If they are allowed without compromising train speed, I'd love to see silent crossing gates in the McKernan and Stadium neighbourhoods. And as I've argued before, use them at all crossings on the Valley Line south of Whitemud Drive and west of WEM station to boost speeds and reduce vehicle collisions. What’s wrong with train noise? Is there a way to make it safe for someone who is blind/issues with seeing safe to cross? That may be why the bells go off.Train noises are fine. Crossing gate bells, not so much. People pay far more than that to live in other cities with mass transit. The LRT in Edmonton is relatively quiet compared to the trains that run through places like, say, Brooklyn.paying 1500/month for a small apartment flooded with constant lrt noise and bell ringing sounds like a dream
