In fairness, Amsterdam was just your cookie-cutter warehouses structured prior to redevelopment. That was an improvement! Nevertheless, your statement holds truth of our mentality...
SIGH!!!

Trucking by Southpark this past Tuesday, I noticed that there's been some good stuff going on, such as sidewalks and the alley opened up for citizen's, and a the big reveal all around. Luckily I had the ol' camera handy for a few late night alley clicks, er, south face shots, er, never mind.

Taken Dec 22. One of the leasing reps mentioned to me that interest in the rentals has been good. I didn't ask about the CRU's, but took a crappy pic.

This project really looks good in person, so much better than these pics. I feel that when the final phase (81ave) is build out, the full impact of this project will be realized - bringing the added density/design of the towers, much needed alley way activation, main street vibes.
Phase 2 is the site directly to the east, and set to begin soon, early '21

More pics of the alley side,

'Beautiful' is a stretch in my eyes (I reserve that descriptor for such buildings as the Legislature, Brighton Block and even Encore) , but I would easily say it is 'slick' and Old Strathcona's most attractive modern, mixed-use infill (so far).
Fair point, I certainly understand why you make that distinction.
