● While the Committee is not adverse to the proposed lane closure, the Committee recommends that a setback should be provided to facilitate an east-west a mid-block connection along the north property line. This setback should be of sufficient width to accommodate active transportation (ie. two-way bicycle traffic) with appropriate buffering.
● Further to our previous correspondence to the Applicant on this proposal, the Committee continues to be very concerned that the proposed density of this project sets a problematic precedent for the development of towers on small parcels in this neighbourhood.

Residents are invited to an information session about a proposed rezoning and lane closure in the Oliver neighbourhood.

Date: Tuesday, April 10, 2018
Time: 6 - 8 p.m.
Location: Oliver School, Gymnasium, 10227 118 Street NW

The application is to rezone 9918, 9922 and a portion of 9930 - 111 Street NW, from Direct Development Control Provision (DC1) to Site Specific Development Control Provision (DC2).

This proposed site specific zone would permit the development of a 23 storey residential tower, with up to 178 residential dwelling units, within 200m of the Grandin LRT station. A portion of the access lane north of 9922 - 111 Street NW is proposed to be closed for the development. The Oliver Area Redevelopment Plan will also be amended to facilitate the proposed rezoning

The information session will be an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and provide feedback to the City and applicant. Feedback will be summarized in a report to City Council before they make their decision on the rezoning.

● represents significant over-development of a small site;

Should be an interesting hearing. Again.
