This will make me sound like a luddite, but I feel like we often get wrapped up in high tech solutions, but get the basics totally wrong. The most beautiful cities in the world are often old and use the same human-scaled techniques over and over again. You don't need space-age technology to make a great city, but you do need people centered design.

As of a couple days ago, I noticed they are still excavating, and are maybe 2 levels deep.

If you look at the Jan 31 photo they are 20 + feet deep and so I would guess they are 30+ now.

I recently moved into a place on the 29th floor of Icon II so I have a pretty good view of this pit and the Connect Centre. Will try to snap the occasional progress pic (garbage iPhone quality) from that vantage point as things really get rolling
