I noticed on the weekend that the pool was full of water. Does that give any indication of readiness for opening? What are the chances that the pool is ready, but opening is delayed a few months only for PR reasons, to make the rec centre opening a bigger event?

You never really understand how steep those banks are until you are there. Juventus was moving out of Argyle on the weekend and starting to move stuff into the new facility.

Love the pool except for being a bit short of 50 m long. No major swim competitions can ever use it.

The refurbished length is less than 50m? Let us know the exact length if you have it?

I used to coach swimming many decades ago and Hemingway was about 1/2 a metre short when it was built. So consequently it could host low level meets and practices of course, but nothing where measurements needed to be exact. I don’t think they have ever rectified it with the refurbishments over the years.

I wonder if the pool was 50 yards instead of 50 metres, given the 1968 construction.
