The entire park is a bit of an architectural standout with product from Hemingway, Cardinal and Dub, all of whom have left a positive imprint on Edmonton.
I agree, the city really cheaped out on the library and it shows. Its unfortunate because it is such a prominent location. The new libraries in Calgary and Ottawa, both btw similar sized cities, puts ours to shame.I wish this particular cladding had been used on the library.

It is just unfortunate that the exterior design couldn't have been a bit more creative. Problem too is they decided to still use the original structure. But at least the interior is very nice.Zinc panels are far from cheap (Library); I haven't compared, but they are likely more expensive than the copper on the Velo
