Canadian Utilities Limited, an ATCO company, is excited to announce the relocation of its downtown Edmonton office to a newly renovated, modern office space to be named ATCO Place. This decision is rooted in ATCO’s commitment to advancing growth and contributing to the vibrancy and revitalization of Edmonton’s downtown core while supporting the evolving needs of employees.

ATCO will transition its employees in ATCO Centre Edmonton to the former Canadian Western Bank building located at 10303 Jasper Avenue starting in 2028.

“Our decision to relocate to an updated office space demonstrates ATCO’s desire to continue to be an anchor tenant in Edmonton’s downtown core and maintain connection with other major businesses in Edmonton. We are pleased to update our space and provide employees with amenities that make their commute and experience in the office exceptional,” said Jason Sharpe, Chief Operating Officer, ATCO Energy Systems

ATCO continues to be a champion for vibrant and safe communities. The move to ATCO Place is an intentional, continued investment in Edmonton’s downtown and business community while enabling ATCO’s contribution to the communities they serve.

“We are excited to welcome ATCO as the anchor tenant,” said Brodie Cain, Director of Leasing for Redstone Group. “The renovations completed to date align well with ATCO’s operational and safety needs, and once finished, the building will offer best-in-class amenities that support their people and workplace culture. We sincerely appreciate the professionalism and collaborative approach demonstrated by the ATCO team and CBRE throughout this process, which has fostered a genuine partnership we value greatly. We look forward to ATCO establishing its long-term home as the property transitions to ATCO Place.”

ATCO Place will reflect ATCO’s brand and vision – to be a modern, customer focused company that drives opportunity and growth for its customers and community. The new location’s prominent and continued contribution to Edmonton’s skyline embodies ATCO’s entrepreneurial drive and proud Albertan roots.

I would love to see changes to the exterior of "Red Square" since it visually swallows up McDougall United Church. Breaking up the color go a long way.
The forum here does realize that the ATCO building was constructed to specifically mimic the brick colouring of the church, and the lobby entry arch too? Yes?

Red Square ready to become another residential conversion???

I remember the top two floors of that building. Fresh out of school and was in awe how nice the reception area was and how amazing the top floor was.
Very old school up there, wood paneling, brass, the whole thing. Started to get a bit sad though as the drain happened to Calgary on leadership.

We probably should start a thread for the atco building, has to be destined for conversion, can’t imagine any other fate,

Glad atco stepped up and stayed downtown, maybe would’ve preferred some other location downtown for me but this is a good second.

Despite the gloom and doom we are and have seen investments in manulife, rice Howard, atb, union bank, and cwb all in a short while. The new builds in ice district and enbridge forced the had of others to bring their quality up too.

I'd love to find some photos. Anyone?

It's a neat side lounge, bar, think cigar and deal-making room, with what I can only describe as the coolest 80s brass and wood UN roundtable.

Ok, you're all going to wax poetic about this top floor and NOBODY has pics of it to share with the rest of us plebs?
I was only there for 6 months and only went up there once. Never got a chance to take pics.

This was in 2004 so I would have been using what's an equivalent to @IanO potato phone to take pictures :p

This will be quite nice to have that many employees that much more centralized into the core. It's not too far from the current building but from what I've always observed with human beings that is a whole lot closer to other things, so hopefully this will be a very good thing for the downtown core

I'll look to see if I can find a picture or two.
Over the years I was up there many times. Maybe too many. When you were called to a meeting up on the 20th floor it was usually with the C-suite types and it was, more often than not, a rather stressful time.
