AI Data Centre

Hope they have a few Billion to pay whatever Indigenous groups have their hat in hand……

Ridiculous and racist comment to make. Your assumption that Indigenous people can only come 'hat in hand' and could in no way be vital economic partners is out of place on this forum.
You said it…..I didn’t……btw - it was stereotyping …not racist. Of course you went with the latter….quick to judge I see.

Btw, the business park north of GP has plenty of land suitable for facilities…..

Just to put the rendering front and centre... Kevin (aka Mr. Wonderful) sure does like to get his name in the headlights "Wonder Valley". Great news for Grande Prairie; sounds like they are off and running.

O’Leary gonna turn GP into the Silicon Valley of the North! He’s gonna try to rival Apple, Cisco or Google’s campuses….lol. This is a joke right? Am I the only who has ZERO.ZERO faith in any of this coming to fruition? If it does, I’ll let them have 1 Costco style warehouse building with a portable 25W Generac generator in the back as back up…….

Agreed, a datacentre is just a warehouse full of servers, and doesn't require a whole lot of staff. Who is going to work in the fancy office park shown in the render?

$70 billion is insane. Take in, the GDP of Metro Edmonton was $93 billion in 2021

Apparently Mr.Fox News poster boy lead a charge to develop a Bitcoin Farm in upstate NY that never saw the light of day.

“……signed a letter of intent to purchase 1000’s of acres……..”

I’ve heard of a few sizeable Letters of Intent that never materialized before

Is this April fools come early? I am skeptical about the numbers being thrown around $70 billion, they just don't make any sense.

I am just trying to figure out what the scam is here - maybe inflate land values in the area for the benefit of someone?

Very ambitious for the location its suggested for. Based of what is presented I suspect AMECO will be funding it.
Very few investors will jump into this size of project. Logistic of building this will be incredible. Plus a possible new power plant to power it. There is a Deepwell geothermal power project in the county they could probably tap into.

But since its Kevin O'leary will be surprised it it gets going and even a fraction of the size.

There's a clip of this fool on "Fox News" - what a surprise along - Smitty's fav media outlet as well!

Anyway - this fool goes on saying that his 5000 acres will be/require - "7 Gigs of Power, enough power for 7 Million homes." All the while, the world requires "30 G of available power towards these Data centers asap." So he's hoping to get almost a quarter of all data centers.
