    Stadium Yards | ?m | 6s | Rohit Communities

you gotta give rohit credit here. these are nice looking buildings, with good materials. it doesn't look cheap like 99% (yes, i'm exaggerating) of the multi-unit buildings going up in the city.

Hey, also asking for a friend: why does every CONServative supporter blame the 4 year window the NDP was in power for the province's woes, CONSidering, you know, the 40+ years of CONServative power here? Again, asking for a friend. BTW, I'm a firm believer in a more tough love approach to our...

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

It's too bad the entire line could not have been elevated! I fail to see how this doesn't look urban or that it looks 'intrusive'. Instead of a slow tram, we would have had a fast train, automated, running at 90- second frequencies during rush hour. (with awesome views!) But city hall, in...

Is anyone really surprised??! No matter who is responsible for the clean-up, the lack of overall civic pride in this city is the status quo. It's disgusting and shameful. Look, for example, at the stretch of JasperAve redone with the fancy lights et al. The bases look like crap now. Ditto...

I find it funny when people say 'police don't care'. When police actually try to do something, they get lambasted by the social media mobs or taken to court or have the mayor scold them publicly.

    LRT Safety

The reality is the city doesn't want turn styles because it distracts from their vision of the utopia they're building in their mind, where life is perfect and everyone sips latte's all day long, working 7 hours a day. Paquette is a part of that, hence the figure he throws out. It's all just...

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Be careful. Don't point out any flaw in the VL. It's sacrilege for so many on here, it seems. As for development around the stations, well, this line has been under construction for years and there's only ONE site where a tower has gone up. It looks like the market just simply isn't there...

^ well, considering 4billion plus is being spent for what is essentially a bus on rails, some added expenses in the beginning, for what is generational infrastructure, would seem to be worth the spend.

VL review, after taking it several times: the good: - trains are sleek and cool looking on the outside. - station integration into neighbourhoods is nice; easy on, easy off. - it's interesting to see it 'stop' at major intersections, thereby allowing vehicle traffic to not get backed up. a...

and i KNOW PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED ON THIS PROJECT! That is where my information is from. Sorry, good person. Taxpayers have been sold a system that's not future-proofed. And those who brought it up during the exhaustive process to get here were quickly silenced.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

le sigh. no, it can't. one: it's not a driverless, computer controlled system. and two: a 90 second headway would result in total traffic chaos. there are already longer lines at intersections at five min headways. trains more frequent in that would result in gridlock! 90 second...

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

no, it's a maximum of two LRVs adding a third or fourth lrv is physically impossible due to the length of the downtown blocks. and the max frequency will only ever be 5 min. it's a street-level system, it can't have faster headways due to that constraint.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

wrong. millennium line peak is every 3 minutes. and the system can achieve frequency every 90seconds. it's something the valley line will NEVER achieve. How, exactly, will future capacity be addressed? $2billion for a line with limited capacity. le sigh

Um, that is called propaganda. I don't want my tax dollars to 'sell' the LRT or the Valley line. Just like I don't want my tax dollars to 'tell the feds' or force the APP on me. You want people to ride the line. Ensure convenience, safety. efficiency. THAT'S the city's role, not propaganda.
