I blame smart phone use. It's so much easier to doom scroll for your dopamine fix than go out and build experiences and socialize. I think there's going to be increasing amount of research and concern about what is an acceptable amount of smart phone use for children and young adults.
Flip side...
Retail is okay, rest of building super meh. Look at this compared to Rohit in Stadium Yards where the windows are much larger, overall articulation and proportions better. Doesn't take much.
Given quality of their products (top in Edmonton imo), they will do very brisk business.
It simply is really unfeasible to increase hours. Baking starts the night before or generally very very early morning. What you have that day, when you sell out that all there is. And given hours totally...
I'd love to even see the podium of phase 2 going ahead, that itself will improve Jasper Ave. Jasper Avenue New Vision Phase 3 (102 to 109 St) is in concept design stage. They must be talking to Maclab as well about whether or not the LRT entrances are going to be incorporated into their building...
They installed a new set of swings this week. Didn't get a shot of it. Also they installed a sliding patio door on the pavilion meeting space.
I think the last piece is the public art.
When the 'pilot' ends on 106 Street, everyone will need to provide feedback to the City. From my understanding this was initiated by folks in Symphony Tower with concerns about entering and exiting their parking from 106 Street. I don't think removing most of the parking, particularly in front...
"The Edmonton Oilers leapfrogged the Boston Bruins to become the fifth-most-valuable team, and are now worth $3.1 billion. The Oilers have hockey’s biggest superstar in Connor McDavid and were in the Stanley Cup Final the past two seasons. Not only did the Oilers post a record year across all...
Binnington trade rumours - We'd have to absorb $6m hit for this year, have to give up Skinner, maybe 2 other players (Kulak maybe, Henrique?), for a goalie that is 36 out of 37 in stats last 10 games. Not sure it's worth it...
Coniferous to deciduous trees about 1:3 ratio with the deciduous trees either providing a tree canopy, for their fall colour or flowers, or sometimes providing fruit.
^I'd have to check their planting schedule, but some of the newer varieties are more resistant (they planted 2 different kinds). Edmonton's only seen a few cases so far and there are preventative measures available.
There is a lot of trees. Most have been selected to provide canopy, for example there is a quite a few elms. Refer to the final design drawings for details.
