Yeah, I think the Liberal leader position is pretty much a poisoned chalice at this point. Who wants to be the fall guy?

Somebody put up a 'Vote for Pedro' sign on Boudreau Road in St. Albert. lol

Very quiet at the advance poll at FC Victoria Soccer Club tonight. I was in and out in 5 minutes.

Disappointing, but unsurprising. Conservative Christian groups have been telling their followers who to vote for since, well forever. Nothing new under the sun in the province that elected Bible Bill.

So much work to be done for those two. Smith researching how to interfere in matters of justice while not appearing to do so, and Johnson brushing up on her 'imprecise' language skills.

This a quite a strange election for Alberta. We don't see too many actually competitive two-way left vs. right races (with no vote splitting left or right). 1993 is the only one I can remember. And even that one was still a pretty easy win for Klein.

This will be a very close race. Polling seems to be shifting in NDP favour. I remember a few weeks back thinking that this would be the UCP's race to lose, that may well happen.

Sounds like a 'perfect' phone call. lol

    Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I wouldn't mind seeing both lines built sooner than later. Infrastructure, transit or otherwise should be a spending priority in the years ahead for all three levels of government. It would be a massive kick start to a battered post-pandemic economy. Big challenges will be supply chain...

    Suburban Development and Sprawl

Interesting conversation all. My wife and I moved into our place here in 2010. We chose this area because, at the time I worked in the west end, and my wife was doing industrial construction work. And there are lots of folks like us that work in trades or industry so we're not alone. The...

slight quibble There is no 'h' in Carlton. (And I'd be fine with whatever you call my local stop. As long as it gets built sometime before I croak). lol

    Terwillegar Drive Expansion

I say if they're going to be building new bridge structures there anyways, they may as well build a proper semi-directional T interchange. Do it right.

    LRT Expansion Planning

I was really disappointed when the South extension was prioritized over the Metro extension, but I do understand the reasons. At this point, I'm just hoping the line makes it to Campbell Road before I hit retirement age, and my wife and I can live with one car from that point on.

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Fingers crossed that we don't have another fiasco on our hands. It really shouldn't be like the Metro Line, there is no patchwork signalling system layovers, and no heavy rail infrastructure gates, lights and bells. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

That yellow grating is so ugly. I've said before it needs something to spruce it up. I'd like to see dragons.

    Suburban Development and Sprawl

I do like the 2-storey back garage narrow lots, but yeah, otherwise everything else is pretty lack-lustre out here. I mean, most things we need are a quick 5-10 minute drive from here, but it could be so much nicer if the transit service and bike infrastructure was better and the parking would...

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I remember thinking a couple years ago that 26 trains wouldn't be enough, and that we'd probably need to be running all two-car consists at peak right from the get-go. I think with even half the trains being two cars, people wanting to board at Bonnie Doon and north will be experiencing pass-by...

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

@westcoastjos Where would you have built another east/west freeway in Edmonton? I think we got it right with the general alignments of Yellowhead and Whitemud (even though the implementation could have been better). I definitely wouldn't want the Jasper Freeway we bailed on. I don't envy...

    Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Went for a drive this morning to see how the Valley Line is coming together. Looks pretty good, there were about 6 or 7 Flexities parked on the track along 66/75 St. Anyways, I came home through the core and up through Kingsway/NAIT. The lights turned red as I was coming up Kingsway and the...

The yellow sides of the tunnel portal need something to cheer them up. A dragon motif would look great there. Would need an anti-tag coating though.
