Coronation Community Recreation Centre | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton | Dub Architects

There's no rink in the current development, and none in the future plans on site that I am aware of. The only double-rink I can recall for Coronation was part of the City's 10-year arena development guide from back in 2009. This also included a new double rink at Rollie Mills, but I'd imagine...

Coronation Community Recreation Centre | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton | Dub Architects

The only part of this project that disappoints me is that no replacement for Coronation Arena was included. Another loss of a centrally located, smaller arena, forcing users further out to the suburbs in the mega-rec centre developments.

What a depressing few blocks, yeesh. Development cannot happen fast enough here, but unfortunately we all know it's years away yet.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Oh wow, I didn't realize that type of timeframe was in the cards. I must've misread the year on the March that I saw. Thanks!

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Is there any update on the status of the departures roadway construction? I recall some rumours of March 2024 being in the timeline at one point.

Looks like the Horowitz is back in business!

    Strathcona Gateway | 23m | 6s

The one bed floorplans they have range from $1,780 to $1,830 and the SFages on those are 618 - 714. So right in that range ($2.55 - $2.88). https://rentoffwhyte.com/floorplans/

Love to see it. While they're not perfect with the surface parking, they are quality buildings, have nice amenities, and at least add something other than big box stores to these types of developments. Nice projects

Do you know if this is by Devereaux? Looks very, very similar to G17 Apartments in Tamarack

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Had similar issues this weekend with parking (JetSet in my case). My QR code wouldn't scan going in, so I had to call. Took at least 9-10 minutes on hold until anyone answered (luckily nobody was behind me in line). Same issue going out, again didn't scan, and while the hold time was much...

Edmonton METS Plan (1969 Historical Freeway Plan)

I'd imagine the pretty immediate elevation drop down QE Park Road + existing developments directly adjacent to Sask Dr. on the other side would make that difficult, or an extremely tight traffic circle, which wouldn't be much better in the end.

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Streetside has townhomes starting at $399k in Blatchford. That's an important price point compared to what's been selling predominantly there so far. Hope there's a few options even less expensive than that as well (though I doubt it, given it's central. Suspect most of the affordable spots will...

    Connect Centre | 56.3m | 16s | ONE Properties | DIALOG

The Best Buy is still there, unless you're referencing a different one that used to be DT that I'm blanking on?

    Stationlands Residential Towers | 90m | 25s | Qualico | DIALOG

Awkwardly, though, theswitch.com that's on one of the billboard mockups is not owned by them for the project. I'm sure the production prints won't have that, but...

    Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

Exactly what I expected from this company. How I wish another company would embrace 104st as much as Langham has. As usual, of course this is better than the parking lot its replacing and adds more residents DT, that's all great. I just want better design, which is likely possible without much...

    ONE12 | 46m | 14s

This should be the template for the Warehouse District for sure. Wish "Rileys" on 103/108 used these materials and massing (understanding as well why that development is trending the way it is to maximize wood construction).

Does it beat the empty field? Yes. Do I wish these things would be even *slightly* street oriented? Also yes. Hell, just move the strip of parking closest to Gateway to the interior of the site, so that the building + one row of parking is closer, and you've already got an incremental improvement.

    Advanced Skills Centre | ?m | 4s | NAIT

Awesome to see. While I'd also have loved to see expansion into Blatchford, I think their overall plan saves some of that for residences and plazas and such. Hopefully this build allows them to replace some of the offerings in the oldest part of the main campus, and eventually get to re-building...

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

Looking at the least glamourized rendering I could find, I think the balconies & roof on this one are going to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting on tying together the design. I'm still very optimistic at this stage From: https://www.maclabdevelopment.com/our-work/infill-projects-3/parks-10/

    The Mercury Block | 21.7m | 6s

It's meant as a minor criticism, based on personal taste. Their website also shows it black, it's not a big deal I just preferred the original look that continued the curve of the entranceway and had a contrasting colour.
