    Manulife Place Renovations | 145.99m | 36s | AIMCo | MdeAS

New signage going up on the tower, someone on Reddit caught them putting it up by helicopter. Pretty neat

    Lotus Park | 20.2m | 6s | Westrich Pacific | J+S Architect

No update other than to say when I was driving down Jasper today, looking up 108th this is definitely impactful for a smaller building. Mix in with Lilac, and hopefully Parks Pt 2 & connector, gonna be a night & day difference for the feeling of that street. Good to see

50 Street Widening & CP Rail Grade Separation

Unfortunately the pedestrian detour remains at ground level through the winter, not over the bridge.

    Stollery Children's Hospital

At this time it's just a site announcement. But they said in the announcement this allows them to: - planning to determine space & service needs has begun - business case is completed - remainder of planning phases on track to be completed in 2026 - THEN they will secure the funding - will be...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Yup, this one doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Though, the walkable services should be improving somewhat with the Michener Park development. Still an extremely odd choice, seems almost like it was chosen for how easy it would be to build (given it's greenfield) rather than any other...

That is awful. There is literally nicer stuff (and that's not saying much) going up in the 'burbs. What a letdown if that goes ahead, tough to believe it's Beljan (is it still them?)

If the DP is approved, is Procura actually going to move forward on this? I assumed it was dead from their POV.

Worker must've stopped at Dave's Hot Chicken down the street before work

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

The only concern I could see is that 97 St is quite narrow between 111 & 110A, might be a squeeze to fit everything in, depending on just how separated these BRT systems are envisioned to be.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

Issue with Option 2 is the section that goes from 97 St to 101 St on 111 Ave. That's a nightmare already, and having to cross that many lanes to hit the turn lanes seems daunting even with bus priority signals. I wonder if they could have the BRT route go across 111 Ave, and then connect to...

    Capital Line LRT

Would be prudent. I think a lot of people don't know about the back entrance to the Kinsmen/YMCA off 19 Ave, which would be the obvious detour for left turns while this goes on.

    7906 109 Street | 6s | Pagnotta

Comparing the aerials on the City's site with current day, it looks like 109th is the same now as it was in 1978 from Whyte to ~75 Ave.

    12415-Jasper Avenue - ? - ? - Leston

Always had a soft spot for this one and wish it had been built. There was an actual render floating around out there at some point as well

No picture as I was driving, but this is well underway. Steel framing for 3 floors is up, no walls or glazing yet though. Looks like it'll have a nice presence beside their residential 'tower'

    Prairie Sky Gondola | 76.2m | ?s | Prairie Sky | DIALOG

Gondola systems usually have escape ropes for cars that are above a spot that is suitable for such an evacuation. For cars in a spot that isn't suitable, they can usually be winched along the line until they're in a spot where it is possible. And sure, in an absolute worst-case & unlikely...

    Prairie Sky Gondola | 76.2m | ?s | Prairie Sky | DIALOG

There's literally gondolas that are nearly 450m above the ground (which also has a river below), between two mountains. Do you think emergency services can just put up a ladder there? No. It's a bad faith argument because there are obviously safety mechanisms in place in gondola systems.
