Weird. I always considered Calgary to be part of Alberta.

I would be stunned if Hoffman bows out - but the race is effectively over.

Edmonton and the play for post-secondary educational relevance

Honestly? The main U of A campus is wonderfully located. And if that results in the vibrant, beautiful neighbourhoods we see on the south face of the river, I'm all for it. MacEwan (and Norquest) are the folks who can make the biggest impact downtown.

    Downtown Real Estate

Doesn't more residents (brought in large part by throwing money at it) address many of the things that make it not attractive?
  6. T

    Downtown Real Estate

More homes downtown would address all of these things very directly

Given the number of neighbourhoods that are a sea of houses, I would welcome a sea of townhomes here.

Ok. Let me explain my confusion. The address in the demolition permit is for here...

I thought the Westrich tower was going up where the Emergency Relief Society building is currently standing, rather than the parking lot across the street?

$5M is a rounding error for these folks. I can't imagine suing to withdraw what could have simply been great philanthropy (with the tax benefits to match).

I understand your point. But... I have to go to MANCHESTER PLACE then... (whimpers)

Perhaps every retailer could abandon Manchester Square and move here... Please?

In this specific case, I think it's absolutely fine.

Can someone please translate this into English?

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Agreed for the most part. Calgary Trail or Gateway at Whyte then the Westin at Churchill Square would be ideal.

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

Well this makes me rather happy to see. Most of the buildings along this stretch would not be missed. It's almost like the Valley Line is having its intended effect ;)

FFS. It's a residential neighborhood, not a warzone.

While I'd prefer a 95 St infill station, I can accept a 12 minute walk to Chinatown/Little Italy!

    LRT Expansion Planning

Access to Italy. Access to Chinatown. Access to human services agencies. Access to the YMCA Village. Transit oriented development potential. And it's already moving at a snail's pace at this corner. And I assume that this would be a rather cost-effective station addition. Yes - yes- yes.
