The Edmonton Method - Snow Removal

^. ^^ I shovelled late morning and had as much again as in this photo by late afternoon.

    Federal Politics

^ I think Carney’s position today is similar to Poilievre’s at the Conservatives leadership election in 2020 and 2017. In both cases it was clear the country wasn’t yet ready to kick out the Liberals (and that is how we change governments, voting out rather than voting for) so Poilievre stayed...

Interesting to see LeBlanc get her portfolio. His father Romeo used to babysit JT. I guess that’s another example of some things coming full circle

In Freeland’s resignation letter she said of Canadians that “They know when we are working for them, and they know equally when we are working for ourselves.” Sometimes even Liberals get it. 😞

From the City’s recruitment profile: Sitting on Edmonton’s Police Commission while retired in Portugal is just silly but there’s no way it’s a 175k gig.

    Douglas Manor Addition | 23m | 6s | ROIS Investments | David Murray

^ It’s a “self erecting” tower crane that doesn’t need a mobile crane for assembly. It also doesn’t have an operator’s cab as it’s controlled remotely.

    Downtown Real Estate

^ I did some design consulting for the owner on this sweet little 16 story project in Singapore with a variety of two story interconnected floor layouts and balconies: :https://www.edgeprop.sg/property-news/shophouse-inspired-office-building-duplex-suites-8-robinson-1

    Edmonton Oilers

^ I think the impact of not having Evader Kane in the dressing room as well as on the ice and the bench has at least as much impact as losing Holloway and Broberg.

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

You’re actually better off buying investments on a regular (monthly or quarterly) basis than trying to “time the market”. If you look at long term trends, interim peaks have little impact and over time you will purchase just as much at low points as at high points.

    Downtown Crime

^ Just because “these problems are no longer just in the downtown core, or adjacent inner city (areas such as Kingsway), but are becoming more pervasive in the city” doesn’t make them less of a problem in the downtown core or adjacent inner city areas.

    The Edmonton Elks - CFL

^ I look forward to the team having enough depth and the right play-calling to see this young man light up the league for the next three (plus) years.

Sooo… I wonder what the odds are of my negotiating a contract with the provincial government that will let me keep the interest on $42 million while we decide what it is I’m going to sell them for that much money...

    Municipal Politics

^ Not only do people who bike pay taxes, they pay their share of taxes for road construction and maintenance and snow removal! I will however take issue with the use “weekly ridership numbers”. If weekly ridership is 1,000, it’s as pretty safe assumption that there are 500 return trips per...

    Edmonton Oilers

^^ I'm not sure what game you were watching IanO. I'm not typically a fan of low-scoring games as they're too often "kitty bar the door" snooze-fests with the game played on clogged up ice between the blue lines. Last night's third period with the Oilers down a goal and owning the ice in the...
