    Edmonton Real Estate Market

How does that work for people trying to sell a vacant unit out of curiosity? Are there any caveats for single unit owners who lived there a certain amount of years and have decided to move and thus the unit is vacant? I know very little about this stuff.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Sorry I should clarify, does anyone know when that specific section in front of Monaco 2 from ADP to Norquest will be finished? There is some significant streetscaping and changes to that avenue I can't image it would be less than a year.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Anyone got any idea how long this section's gonna take to complete? I'm having a helluva time both finding renters and/or trying to sell my place right now. All the comments from realtors and prospective tenants are because of this.

Enbridge 2: This time; it's PERSONAL. Gonna be a great sequel, I think we're all feeling it.

Owning right on the corner I'm happy to see something human scale going into the area. You see parks around Victoria surrounded by 5-7 story buildings and it feels a bit less like you're being utterly dominated by a sun-blocked city whilst in the park. There's also still opportunities for...

That would be the most sensible approach if feasible. However I would also say that if you’re trying to build a 50 story skyscraper with multiple floors of underground parking, it would likely pose a significant obstacle to work around.

I get the feeling (thought it hasn’t been outwardly stated) that they thought demolishing a basement with a vault in it would be as simple as taking a wrecking ball to a few walls and using a crane to remove the door. I would LOVE to see what the engineering assessment on that vault is/will...

    Downtown Real Estate

Man it’s such a shame Jasper House couldn’t go. Ahead on that corner. Woulda really started tying the block together.

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

I think the tradeoff for the Monaco building is a positive one. That building recently got a major renovation done and replaced its slider windows with crank style so the noise won’t be so bad. I know I’d take the noise and activity for that view any day. And the owners in that building deserve...

I gotta admire the creative ingenuity of this lol.

What a strawman argument to make eh. The exhibition lands and blatchford are nowhere near as unsightly as his property. Nor do they sit on the city’s potentially top premiere downtown corner.

There were two I believe. One was across 101st where the vacant lot beside the casino is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think a little bit of thread derailment is okay but a few pages is a bit much guys...can it be taken to private message or into a new thread? Some of us are eagerly anticipating the guaranteed announcement of this shovels ready project and clicking every notification that comes in.

That would effectively be enough for them to cut their losses and sell. A more competent developer might get a solid deal on the land if this happened.

Would these be condos or apartments? Nobody would ever buy in these units. Everyone’s learned from investors in TO and I don’t think anyone would buy these to live in. Back to the drawing board.

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

Yeah from a rental standpoint I completely agree. The only problems with older buildings from an owner standpoint is all the additional costs. Less people paying into your reserve and operational funds, aging mechanical and envelope concerns, amenities that are now extraordinarily expensive to...

Not to mention comparatively lower priced older units in the surrounding area. Edmontonians seem to prefer value over vanity.

Construction fencing also pops apart pretty easily. you can move a section in 2 seconds.

This is the old EERS building right? I remember volunteering my time there during the Fort Mac Wildfires. I'll never forget many donations came in from Edmontonians, nor the efforts of all the people in that place that went beyond the one single emergency I was apart of. Truly was an anchor of...
