The Mercury Block II | Hodgson Schilf Evans

I'm more annoyed about the marketing tactic of saying "luxury apartments"... I guess anything new is considered luxury. You're a real top earning baller if you live in a shoe box with in-suite laundry eh.

I don't think you have to single out Alberta, it's a Canada/USA-wide phenomenon.

Design switched from Frankfurt to Hinton. Forreal though, the original didn't even look like it would be that much more expensive, what am I missing? Remove the brick if you must and make it black stucco like Mercury and it still be better.

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Which one? On the drivership, yes I'm overexagerating just trying to make a point. As much as people here want a less car-centric city the majority mentality is far from it and quite frankly may possibly be going in the wrong direction. On my vision? It's just wishful thinking and trying to...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Out of the One Million Edmontonians, 950,000 would still choose to drive to the hospital over taking transit. All while complaining about the traffic and having to pay for the said parking, they'll still choose to drive.... Big benefit also is that there is tons of space for future...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Maybe a dumb question, but would maybe an Alberta doctor's association have had input into its location? Or the idea of attracting top talent been a factor? I've noticed in Calgary, Rockyview and Foothills both have some pretty impressive neighbourhoods with mansions adjacent to them. Have also...

A six-storey canyon would be awesome down this boulevard.

@archited told me he spoke to Aldritt's janitor who confirmed this is still a go.

    City of Red Deer Updates

I'm just glad Smitty didn't build the South Edmonton hospital castle for the deranged lefties that can't stop crying.

    Rodriguez - 6 storeys - 10219-112st NW

Why even waste space for a washer/dryer if these tenants are expected to be nudists since there's nowhere to store clothes?

It's also ironic to appreciate a skyline that can only be seen from an elevated viewpoint, and then complain about other elevations in your view.

Had lunch at Braven once, will never eat there again. The service was so bad, and the food was both expensive and of subpar quality. You would think they'd try hard for their office crowd. It's one of those places you're paying a certain price just because of where it is or what it's supposed to...

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

It's really all about perception though, isn't it? Doesn't matter what the actual stats are, people choose where they want to be based on their own biased perceptions. And how do we change that????? That's the big question. I have the suspicion that there is also more to it; using 'crime' as a...

    The Mezzo | 53.95m | 16s | WestOak Development | RAW Design

I think some developers like starting multiple projects at once to cut costs like admin and other overheard costs by allocating to multiple sites. So if you look at it that way, the Calgary project starting up may be a good sign.

Cidex probably got a good deal on the site, and they have big pockets to move forward with projects, is my guess. Nothing makes it more attractive

Hope Ayrshire starts on both projects but all I know is in the Calgary thread for their project, it was mentioned today a building permit application was submitted. Pretty sure all their YEG projects on their site are already completed, no?
