    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

A case study on how to make a stunning modern highrise with not much glass. I honestly started to worry how bad this building was going to look before the cladding went up when I saw the size of windows.... turned out very well based on this last picture.

That might be the best 'big city' views you can get in YEG

If Langham did the same balcony glass and baluster treatment as we see at the Parks, it would have made the Falcons so beautiful. Is it that much more expensive or is Raza just that cheap??

    BLVD - 10163-108st - 6 Storeys

I think Capital Blvd, with its revitalization not so long ago has been ready for this increased demand for quite some time. The park, Park tower, Capital apartments, Norquest, and now lowered interest rates, finally got more developers interested. Also.... sandwiched between Carona station and...

    New Stadium / Arena?

My honest opinion and wishful thinking.... screw the MLS and focus on the growth of CPL. Canada has surpassed a population of 40 million people. Soccer as a whole continues to grow in North America. CANMNT has garnered a lot of attention with its success and the CPL can and has already started...

    Stantec Tower | 250.84m | 66s | ICE District Prop.

Yes, it most definitely can happen anywhere. But the impact and size of damages are far less when you have a shorter building.

This is why we don't need super tall highrises. I used to be all in on height, now I'd much rather see 10x mid-rises vs a couple super-talls

    Riley's 108 Street Redevelopment | 20.2m | 6s | J+S Architect

^First picture isn't happening, second picture is brutalist trash looks good in render but would probably age very poorly, third picture..... have you seen the real product?? It's trash....

    Riley's 108 Street Redevelopment | 20.2m | 6s | J+S Architect

So we got a slight change in design, with a lot of brick added. I really hope Westrich don't cheap out on that, the brick is going to make-or-break the end result.

I personally can't be optimistic in this case, due to the societal norms we seem to have now accepted. This isn't just an Edmonton issue, Edmonton just getting hit hard by it unfortunately. Too big of a woke movement in too short of a period, normalizing drug use and defunding the police...

    CNIB Redevelopment | 106m | 32s | ONE Properties | Wallman Architects

Tried out Va this past weekend, great spot and great sammies. It's funny the sit-down space is so small and crammed, I felt that normally I'd complain about this. But instead, it felt like I was in a crammed sandwich shop somewhere in Italy which made me like it. The street front though was so...

    Bateman Lands Mid-Rise | 34m | 8s | Bateman Properties | Next Architecture

Damn lol... They couldn't just build the last iteration but with no CRU? That design is just so unacceptable. CRU honesetly, I could care less. We don't need retail that sits empty for years and has an even worse impact on the vibrancy of the street.

And they shall sit empty for years like Fox retail. I don't understand developer economics of sitting on empty space vs dropping base rates.

Any properties facing a road that has two lanes for both directions of traffic should allow for infill up to 6 storeys in size. This should apply across the entire city.

    Michener Park Redevelopment | ?m | ?s

"to shame" is a little harsh imo, I wouldn't count out Blatchford just yet. There's still lots to finish there and the townhome projects are looking pretty good so far. If Edmonton can get the momentum Calgary has had to have developers take a little more risk, it would do wonders.
