    Municipal Politics

long lines not indicative of voter engagement (30% vs 37% last election), but onerous changes to the process introduced by UCP gov. Their paranoia about voting machines and insisting on hand counting has slowed reporting to a snails pace. Everything they touch is made worse by their incompetence.

    Downtown

Does anyone have an exact number of the percentage of the entire work force that is still work-from-home? and what's the breakdown of 5/5 days home, 3/5 home, etc? Just seems like a lot of the arguments are based on feelings and perceptions.

    Iron Horse Line / Station Park | ?m | 6s | Beljan Development | Hodgson Schilf Evans

Don't see why tax payers should shell out multi-millions to increase foot traffic to a cluster of small businesses.. not one penny. let the businesses themselves create the draw. Think this convo has gone to cloud cuckoo land.

I don't buy that it's the road crossing that's the problem.. That's a pedestrian scramble crossing there; easy peasy. I don't think a multi-million $ bridge is the solution; if folks can't get up the energy to cross 30' of pavement (which they do with aplomb one block west at Calgary Trail)...

guess there's not as big a drinking culture crowd as some wish. Quite frankly the prices these places charge for a glass of beer or wine are way over the top; triple and quadruple the cost of just buying something at the store and consuming at home.

^^^^ #It's about supply but also demand. And, as it stands, there is no demand for downtown living. People don't want to live near social disorder". how do explain the quick lease up of Stationlands, which is as close to problem areas as can be then?

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

looking great! (pic is zoomable on reddit) just wish that they would've spent a little more and popped in a few larger deciduous trees. It will be a good 10 years before there is some shade. Love the swings for 2 hanging from the northern lights ring. anyone remember what the blue circle area...

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

they really should demo the Bay space and build housing there. I think housing geared toward down-sizing seniors would go like hot cakes: retail and medical services available year round all within a climate controlled environment with pedway connections to the library, arts district, ice...

^I beg to differ but the point is moot, no one is going put up money for TV/film production spaces in Edmonton. Toronto, Vancouver and to a lesser extent Calgary have that all sewn up.

I think the old RAM would be better suited to make sound stages / studios out of the exhibition halls, Although I don't know what the need is. Allard couldn't keep their purpose built sound stage open.
