I think there's a better business case for this funicular than the 100 St funicular (don't get me wrong, I like the 100 St funicular) as it would actually serve residents who would use it at all hours and year round. The stairs are sparsely used for the reasons David A pointed out.

The report indicated they're going to reconfigure the curbs a little to improve snow clearing. They're also going to deal with (or have dealt with) concrete quality issues, which likely also exists on Hermitage Road but they're not subject to being in the direct line of fire with errant drivers...

I'd be surprised if they didn't install curbs in the next couple of weeks. They must be fairly easy to put in if the city was able to casually take the 40 St ones out for reconfiguration.

Interesting. They way the roads are laid out indicates things were getting built out while the interchange still existed, likely until they were hindering traffic flow more than they helped it. Actually found this in the 1983 wards and polling map...
