    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

For some reason, I'm not digging the low-rise design above the podium. Reminds me of our previous city hall building somehow. But I really like the concept of this development, and I'll be happy to see this rise.

    The Quarters Hotel and Residences | 280.1m | 80s | Alldritt Land | KENNEDY

Yes! That's the very first thing that came to my mind as well. Pseudo Art Deco, plus Encore on steroids. This will be stunning - and can I just point out how happy I am that we're FINALLY getting a tall tower with a North-South face? Looking forward to the city making more of an impact from the...

    Unbuilt Projects

That may be a possibility someday. When the lease expires for the Service Canada Centre and Passport office, they will be consolidated into one. If one space or the other is not big enough for the new consolidated office, it will move to another building, which means the ground level offices on...

Sweet! Don't think I've ever noticed anything passed without conditions.

    Unbuilt Projects

The model is being displayed on a table in the 10th floor elevator lobby, but it's now closed to the public. I've been working from home since the 19th, but when I get back to the office once this pandemic situation is over, I'll post a photo in this thread. It looks the same as the other...

    Winspear Centre Completion Project | 29.87m | 4s | Winspear Centre | Andrew Bromberg

Hopefully there will be some sort of federal relief for cultural institutions once this is all over. It'd be a shame to lose the ESO over something like coronavirus.

    Hat at Five Corners | ?m | 24s | Cidex Group

Agreed. The black glazing on West Block looks really slick. I'd like to see more of that in Edmonton.

    Winspear Centre Completion Project | 29.87m | 4s | Winspear Centre | Andrew Bromberg

I've been curious how this project and the SE LRT construction have been impacting the ESO season and their rehearsals, if at all, but now thanks to COVID-19 I suppose that's a moot point... :( Getting my fix this week by binge-ing "Mozart In The Jungle".

    Hat at Five Corners | ?m | 24s | Cidex Group

The top floors look gross, like they're from a segment of a completely different building that's been glued on top of this tower. Very disappointing, especially given this tower's conspicuous location and its potential to have otherwise spurred development in the Quarters.

I started working from home yesterday but I'll snap one and post it once I've returned to the office.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

^ "For safety", probably. I'm still dubious about this "concrete mass" - nobody knows where it came from or how it got there - allegedly. Wouldn't the citizens of this city notice if somebody poured a car-sized slab of concrete into the river at some point in history? TransEd is treating that...

    ICE District Phase 2 | 149.95m | ?s | ICE District Prop.

I like your list, and I agree. Despite being termed "a winter city", Edmonton is far easier for visitors to digest in the summer months. My Nashville friends were here for six days in July, and we ran out of time to do/see everything I wanted to. Our biggest takeaway from that visit was that we...

    ICE District Phase 2 | 149.95m | ?s | ICE District Prop.

Thanks Dave. I recall reading this article from when the vote passed; I must've forgotten though, especially since Minneapolis got all the glory (read: media coverage). Typical Edmonton - quietly making changes behind the scenes rather than jumping up and down and waving arms on the world stage...

    ICE District Phase 2 | 149.95m | ?s | ICE District Prop.

I just want that gap in the skyline to be filled. Let's replace it with a much better tower that will actually be constructed. :D

    Polykar Production Facility | ?m | 3s | Polykar Industries | FarMor Architecture

Thanks! Now we just have to get the word to Polykar and to city council somehow. Perhaps council could incentivize Polykar to diversify into this field by offering some kind of conditional tax break for coming to Edmonton (the same way the City had for Dell when they opened a call centre here in...

    Polykar Production Facility | ?m | 3s | Polykar Industries | FarMor Architecture

The recent Apollo Masters fire in California spells a great opportunity for petrochemical companies like Polykar to diversify their offerings. How cool would it be if the new Edmonton facility became the leading supplier of blank lacquers for vinyl record mastering in North America...

    Kathleen Andrews Transit Garage | ?m | 2s | City of Edmonton | gh3

Well, random and irregular dents they may be. Either way, the city should at least acknowledge the problem as you say, whether intentional or otherwise. Incidentally, I love the way this siding captures ambient light, especially at twilight. It's turned my head more than a few times already...
