Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

Im going from what they managed to build this summer which is only one side of the street on 2 blocks. I know that some utility work needed to get done and this is besides that work.

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

Since they are using concrete to form all the benches and planters, what are they going to do if someone damages those features? Will they make 'temporary' fixes with asphalt that end up being permanent? It would be much easier to unbolt the damaged features from the sidewalk and replace with...

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

Doing it nice should not take so long, 4 years is too long for most businesses to stay afloat, it also puts any investment by businesses looking to set up shop on hold. Like I said before, a street is only as good as the services available along the street. There is no need to shoot ourselves in...

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

That doesn't make my point wrong, you can pave a street with gold but it won't be worth anything unless the street has occupied buildings on both sides. That is a common feature seen in every example you provided.

La Rambla is a pedestrian only street, not a good example. Champs-Élysées and Paseo de la Reforma are even wider than Jasper Ave and those cities are 10x larger than Edmonton. But sure…. carry on.

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

Decorative widgets can be bolted to the sidewalk which takes much less time than forming with concrete, and much easier to maintain. TAS, what you are saying is what parks are for, I agree that trees should be planted but Jasper Avenue is NOT a park. It is a busy street with lots of traffic, it...

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

To be honest, new widened sidewalks and a freshly paved street was all I was looking for, the entire avenue could have been done by now. The forming of benches and planters and other decorative widgets are why it is taking so long. Can someone tell the city to stop trying to reinvent the wheel...

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

The folks that have balconies facing the park on the south side of Monaco 1 must be overjoyed!

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

Jasper Avenue west of 109th street was never a true urban street. There had always been a lack of street fronting buildings along it. Car dealerships were one of the first businesses along that street I believe. Correct me if I am wrong.

    ICE Tower

Anyone remember the colourful metal fence that was in front of a parking lot on 104th St. that looked like graffiti *cough*aurora borealis*cough*. that fence of shame might as well be used again to remind us of how great downtown Edmonton was in the 90s. For those that have never seen this...

Edmonton got 60 million, what did other cities get?

To all those that want LRT to River Cree I suggest you drive to Costco and park your car in the Costco parking lot. Then walk to the casino and enjoy car dodging! You can also see the lack of sidewalks on googlemaps.

    Misc. Transportation Projects

Because if an LRT station gets built on the reserve the city might loose the ability to plan future stations from River Cree since it will be out of their jurisdiction.
