Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

So what? Doesn't mean it's good or useful. For every road you mentioned I could list about a 100 major roads (mostly outside of North America) that don't. Please explain how this makes any difference in this context....

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

They're useless, a waste of space and left turns, especially on roads like Whyte, are unnecessarily dangerous (for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike) and disrupt the flow of traffic. They exist simply to appease the laziness of some drivers, who apparently would die if they had to circle a...

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

Yet another reason for not having turning lanes. Left turns disrupt traffic flow, create more conflict points and are overall worse by all accounts. The only rationale for left turns is sheer laziness to drive around a block. If anything, doing away with them could benefit potential businesses...

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

How about wider sidewalks, no parking, NO BLOODY TURNING LANES (and no left turns altogether) and BRT? What's it with the turning lane fetish? I've been asking this here for the past 5 years, no one has ever come up with an answer.

The expansion going on at Panini's was just internal (kitchen) and not seating area. Their focus is on having this location more targeted at delivery/take out. They have a larger unit in Sherwood Park and are in the process of building a new, even larger, location in the West End.

Or... hear me out... Have a thematic basement bar/arcade that caters to a demographic different from Beercade.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

The idea should be get rid of the parallel parking in this stretch of Whyte, get wider sidewalks and prioritized transit.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

We should take away these folks licenses and make them pay for the damages.

    Edmonton Oilers

One last silly number: if for some reason McDavid could combine his highest goal per game and assist per game stats (2022-23 and "post Knob" 2023-24, respectively), he'd be on a 180+ points range. His post Knoblauch assist pace is basically Draisatl's post Knob POINT pace (1.45). This is the...

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Beavertails has signage up somewhere on Whyte.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

I would vote for a mix of both. Centre bus lanes with heated stations and wider sidewalks, no turning lanes and no parking lanes. As for their concerns over the loss of a turning lanes in the material: there's one easy way to prevent accidents and delays: NO MORE LEFT TURNS ON WHYTE. It's...

    Edmonton Oilers

For context, McDavid's Knob era pace would give him 154 points over 82 games (higher than last season's) and Draisatl would give him 120 over 82 games (the second highest in his career).

It's also worthy noting that Draisatl has been on a year as well. He went from 19th to 9th on the league in the span of just over two weeks. He's on pace for 43 goals and 109 points considering the whole season. If we count his "Knob era" pace, he's at 1.46 points per game, and is on pace for...

Yes. With the pace he's on (Knob era), he'll pass MacKinnon when we have as many games as Colorado and be either tied of only one point behind Kuch when we reach the TBL.

    Edmonton Oilers

This was by far the best this team has played since the All Star break. Pickard was solid and, while not really challenged that much, this is more a merit of the defensive play than anything, so I'll take it as a net positive. Hyman is on pace for 57, based on the whole season, but if recency...

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

Some good stuff, some half baked efforts. I'm in favor of: - All day bus lanes on 97, from 111 Ave to Northgate TC, both way. - All day, both ways, bus lanes on 109 at from Kingsway to Jasper Ave, SB from 87 Ave to 63 Ave and NB from 63 Ave to 83 ave. - Both ways bus lanes, all day, 23rd Ave...

    Edmonton Oilers

Thank god for Mattias Ekholm. We now need a similar pair for Nurse and we'll have ourselves two VERY dangerous defensive pairings. We might even be able to do this "in-house" not too far into the future. Out of all the crazy changes Knob made when he switched the pairings, the Vinny-Nurse one...

    Edmonton Oilers

The OT might be my fault. Every single time I go to a game in a major league for the first time it goes to OT. 😂 Happened in the NBA, NFL and now the NHL. That said, I genuinely got a bit emotional today. First live Oilers (and NHL game), with a win, a great performance by the guy whose jersey...
