Looked it up out of curiosity…(a very direct translation from a dictionary, probably not accurate) Pahkisimôtâhk Ôcênâs Probably not that haha

    Capital Line LRT

Seems like a good place to end this argument! Listen to me now, I feel like complaining. The new trains for the Metro/Capital lines can't come soon enough, instances of U2 doors getting jammed and the operator needing to get out and manually fix it seem to be more and more common. I'm not super...

    Capital Line LRT

Sorry, what are you talking about? What hasn’t come to pass? Why are you talking about the valley line? I think you may have misunderstood what I said. Idk what your angle is with the whole thing against grade separation cause most transit proponents who know anything think it’s a good thing...

    Capital Line LRT

Not directed at anyone but I just want to mention that grade separation can be more than just for the benefit of drivers. It’s safer for pedestrians and cyclists and huge traffic backups have a really negative effect on surrounding communities. An example is the University ave crossing; the...

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

I really hope they do, the rush crowds from the university are not pleasant

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

From looking at CPTDB wiki, I estimate ETS has ≈60 articulated 60foot buses but I hardly ever see them on our busiest routes (8,9,4). I’ve seen them occasionally on the 9, but never on the other 2. Is there something restricting them to 40foot buses on those routes? I understand many have been...

    Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

We could also go back to our roots (blatantly copying Frankfurt) and go for the Flexity Swift U5, might be more difficult since there hasn’t been any North American variants ordered.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

I would love to watch someone getting worked up at a Vancouver MP town hall about restricting infrastructure funding to Edmonton

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Started pretty weak, crashed and burned at the end. I’m not going to dignify this with a real, thorough response, but I’ll tell you that Edmonton is not Vancouver. The skytrain service, design, and priorities are superb for a place like Vancouver, but they just don’t make sense here. I don’t...

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Sure, but I don’t think anybody is sitting for a minute at Muttart thinking “awe if this train would’ve kept going I could eventually have a little bit more accumulated free time over the span of my entire life.” Yeah if you sum it all up, it’s a lot of time, but most people don’t think about...

I have a bad feeling this, like many first expansions here, will go to Windermere :(

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

I honestly think this is a pretty bad idea. First of all, the station is supposed to be the showcase of the line, and is the whole reason the line is called the "Valley" line. Not only access to the Muttart (which is open all week, not just seasonally or during events) but also access to the...

    LRT Expansion Planning

I agree. I especially think a bit of dynamicity with how we colour our transit wouldn't hurt. I really like how Vancouver and Seattle give their BRT special liveries and I hope whatever BRT we're hopefully soon to receive employs that practise (also frameless bus windows please).

    LRT Expansion Planning

Also, to what Tim Cartmell said, I don't think anyone who isn't delusional moving to Keswick is expecting to use buses.

    LRT Expansion Planning

Sure it's good to have rapid transit expanding to newer areas but when we have large chunks of the city severely underserved by transit such as the NW that are considerably older than the SW.
