Streetside is the only "attached garage on the main floor" option so far. NX has an underground parking garage that is accessible via the basement of one's unit. Streetside also still seems to be lacking any kind of show home or on site sales office, while NX was actively showing their units to...

That's pretty much the math that landed my other half and I here. Our options in the missing middle basically boiled down to infills that were no cheaper or stuff that was utterly placeless and completely car dependent.

And yet somehow people live here. Go figure, eh?

Eh. My bike trip downtown down 113 street is actually kind of nice? And that is getting a bike infrastructure upgrade next year. The sketchiest spot along it is right at 107 Ave, and even that isn't actually bad. Getting to Little Italy has gotten good too, where Kingsway is again the only bad...

Well, since I've moved in, disorder has been pretty much nil, while I hear a lot of complaints about it from (admittedly dramatic) folks in Inglewood. My folks put up with worse out in Bon Accord for 40 years. And yeah, I have an LRT station with easy access, good walkability, easy access to...

Well, that's a shame. Oddly enough, WFH had me at the downtown location a lot more often than I otherwise would've been. But I'm not really walking distance from them anymore. And sadly, 100 Ave isn't really affording restaurants the visibility of Jasper Ave. I particularly liked when they had...

    General Food & Dining Thread

When I talked with them not too long ago, they were talking about trying to bring in donburi and a few more options to add a little more depth to the menu for winter.

Yeah, there's not really many options downtown or even in Edmonton for grab and go takoyaki, despite it being very much a street food.

    Winter City

Same, though it always seems that most of the supposed participants never actually materialize.

Well, I took a better one this morning that went towards that.

Also, I am sure this will be different once more of the neighbourhood fills in, but right now, this is pretty nice. I do miss being right next to the river valley, but I like that this bit of park really captures the feel of being on the prairies.

Went out snowshoeing around the pond this morning, and noticed Landmark has a second block parcelled out now. This is in addition to the block on the NE end of Cedric Mah Rd.

It and the adjacent lot foreground left are Streetside's. We noticed foundations and utility hook-ups were in place for what appeared to be a row of townhouses. Blatchford plan calls for these tracts to be fee simple.

One of them is slated for a six story by NX builds, though that is not super recent news.

    Downtown

I can see that line being very valid when it comes to Edmonton City Centre. It's always been this very awkward implementation of a suburban shopping mall with bad hours, it's been dying for ages, and there is nothing out there that can reverse its fortunes. It will never actually work as it's...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Especially since road improvement budgets have ended up hidden in bike lane costs in the past, like the time the downtown grid was purported to cost over $10 million but the vast majority of that cost was traffic lights that were going to be replaced anyways.

It's been one of my main connections to downtown as is, but it could really benefit from being more than sharrows, and from better crossings for Kingsway, 111 Ave and 107 Ave. We also make heavy use of the old rail path by 121 Street, but it's a bit of a portage to get there. The newly opened...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Seems like a bunch of the "contraflow bike lane" routes could benefit from this treatment. This whole northeast of downtown stretch between 118 Ave and Jasper Ave has great bones for biking but has kind of been short-changed on the infrastructure front.
