    Old Royal Alberta Museum

Apologies if there is already a thread somewhere but I have looked and can’t find one… I originally posted this to the Historic Edmonton and Northern Alberta's Facebook private group page and was asked to make it public so I'm reposting it here: Tommy Banks and I once "blue skied" backfilling...

I'm afraid the lady being livid simply isn't news... ...what would be news is any new day dawning when the lady isn't livid.

    Edmonton Oilers

A complete f*ck up??? I'm just an armchair quarterback who enjoys the game and I don't profess to have a lot of detailed knowledge per se so I'm curious... If you could only own and/or manage one team in the entire league, which of the other 31 teams would you rather own/manage in a quest to...

    The Edmonton Elks - CFL

.^ What’s crazy is that after an 0-7 start to the season they have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs without having to be a cross-over team.

Isn’t that Jennifer Johnson’s riding? The lady who compared the presence of transgender children in schools to "adding a teaspoon of feces to a batch of cookies”? The lady Smith said would never sit in caucus?

    Alberta Politics

"Why do people become socialist when they move to Calgary and Edmonton? I just don't get it," Smith quipped at a UCP town hall. They don’t. But when UCP policies drive urban voters to place their ballots elsewhere, that’s not because they’re socialist, it’s because they’re no longer UCP...

    Edmonton's Population

As noted elsewhere,Unfortunately, with the exception of WEM our transit system pretty much ignores all of our other core non downtown employment bases. This is a larger driver (no pun intended) of the attractiveness of new suburban housing that is closer to those centres. Unfortunately, those...

    Edmonton's Sprawl

For something like MacEwan, from a holistic perspective downtown is better. While most staff are permanent, students are temporary. As those students secure housing downtown (with the exception of those in dorms), as they graduate and take jobs out of the core, if proper transit is in place...

Publicly funded health care is very different from for-profit businesses and even from most other publicly funded and provided enterprises/services. I’m old enough to remember the world’s first heart transplant and when most cancers led to a quick death and when people died of rare diseases...

    Edmonton's Sprawl

Added to that is that if properly implemented, a transit system in a multi-centric employment model would have two-way ridership most of the day on most routes and not simply feeding into the core in the morning and out in the evening.

I suppose it depends on your priorities but public healthcare isn't necessarily best served by "improved efficiency" as much as by the delivery of quality health care. If improved efficiency doesn't result in the latter - or indeed compromised delivery of the latter - then it's foolishness...

    Edmonton's Population

The other major difference is that those four likely don't use the neighbourhood schools and parks/playing field putting strains on them as well.

    Edmonton's Population

Interesting statistic that popped up in today’s discussion on Edmonton’s composting program: There are 250,000 single family homes in Edmonton and there are 170,000 apartments and condominium units. My guess is that this is a much more urban/dense mix than most of us give the city credit for.

For accuracy, he is only asking that the third-party members of the committee report directly to council. As for your concern that the recommendations from a committee are being modified or affected by Administration, it's more likely based on precedent that the committee itself would simply...
